This is a gentle and mindful workshop, perfect if you enjoy slowing down and paying attention to detail.

We will begin by looking at your chosen landscape and exploring how best to fit it on the page. Using simple techniques, you will learn how to measure and frame your subject, deciding what to include and what to leave out. With a ruler and pencil, we’ll lightly mark guidelines and experiment with composition until your landscape feels balanced and ready.

This part takes some patience and careful thought, but once the framing is set, the fun begins. You will be able to sketch with confidence, knowing your subject sits just right on the page.

There is no extra fee for materials in this session – just bring your sketchbook, pencils, and curiosity. We will start with a welcoming cup of coffee at 10am, and begin our measuring and framing at 10.30am. By lunchtime, you should have your landscape well placed on the page, and in the afternoon, we’ll bring it to life with drawing and colour.
